Physical science
In physical science textbooks, encyclopedias and computer programs were esential. But it is also a more practical subject than chemistry so we watched the world and nature a lot. My parents used the website www.sciencemadesimple.com for ideas. There is a lot of science projects - for example how to light a light bulb with static electricity. We answered a lot of practical questions (how do airplanes fly, why do leaves change colour in autumn, even some questions about computers and other more complex machines).
I was on a physics course for homeschooled children in Prague once. It was just one day so the teachers went quickly through the things we were supposed to know and answered questions. We (the children) made notes. Later - in the afternoon - there was also a practical lesson (for example we tried to set black and white paper on fire using a magnifying glass).
